What is First-Click Attribution?
First-click attribution (also called first-touch attribution) indicates where someone came from the first time that they land on your site.
When you have Google Analytics installed, it tracks information about every visitor who comes. Using cookies, it's able to track the different touch points (interactions someone has with your brand or its content).
Why is First-Click Attribution important?
First-click attribution is really useful when you're thinking about top-of-funnel type marketing, where you're doing a lot of brand marketing versus direct response. That's when it's an excellent attribution method to understand how your ads are working because while the customer isn't necessarily going to buy, you're trying to incentivize them to come and learn about your product(s).
